Weather in Cappadocia

Due to its geographical location, the weather in Cappadocia is unique and diverse, from morning till night. The best times of year to visit the region are from March to June and from September to November, during the seasons of spring and autumn.

In spring it may rain, but not enough to hinder any excursion, since rainy periods are short and do not last more than two hours. For convenience, if you are visiting at this time of the year, you may need to bring an umbrella and waterproof, closed shoes. During spring and autumn, is also recommended to bring a sweater or jacket to protect against low temperatures that occur in the afternoon and evening.

As activities in Cappadocia are usually outdoors, be aware that the hottest days in summer the temperatures can reach 40 Celsius degrees and although the humidity is very low, this could turn the exploring during the day an arduous and difficult task. The good news is that the structure of the cave-hotels makes the inside temperatures cooler and fresher than in a normal hotel.

The visit to Cappadocia in winter is a different experience as the landscape is covered in snow and althouht very beautiful, looks different from what you use to see in guides and agencies. Some activities may not be available.

June- August: between 25/35 Celsius degrees
September- November: between 10/20 Celsius degrees
December- February: between -10/10 Celsius degrees
March-May: between 10/20 Celsius degrees
