It was opened in 1980 by Vehbi Koc Foundation, another member of the Koc family, the richest of Turkey. This was the first private museum created by the family, and is dedicated from her son to Sadberk Hanim, wife of Vehbi Koc.
It is located in the historical residence of “Azaryan”, along the Bosphorus. This beautiful three-storied “Yali” (old Ottoman mansion) houses a rich collection of works of art, antiques and relics dating back to Anatolia 6000 years before Christ.
While at the time of its founding, the Hanım Sadberk Museum contained 3000 pieces in his collection, at present times, the inventory includes more than 18,000 museum objects.
The museum is open every day except Wednesdays, between 10:00 and 17:00. The no discount price is 7 TL. It is located in Büyükdere Piyasa Cad 27-29, Sariyer.
