This is the largest naval museum in Turkey and one of the few museums in the world with such a variety of collection. It contains more than 20 000 objects, especially military artifacts belonging to the Ottoman navy.
Galeras and historic schooners, weapons, paintings, models and sketches of ships, shields and monograms, navigational instruments, medals, orders, stamps, uniforms and manuscripts, among others, make up the vast collection of the Naval Museum, first Military Museum in Turkey.
The museum also offers several shows and exhibitions, temporary, permanent and virtual as well as catering services, educational courses, stores, archive and art gallery. It is located in Besiktas, and is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 17:00. The ticket price is 4 TL for adults and 1 TL for students.
