To enter to Turkey you must present your passport and depending on your nationality, it will require visa or not. We suggest you to check with the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country for the specific requirements of your nationality, as well as the appropriate arrangements.
Spanish citizens can enter Turkey either with a valid passport or identity card, every time it is valid at least for three months. The visa fee is 15 euros, that you will pay at the airport.
Similarly, other countries do not require visas, such as:
For stays up to 90 days: (passport valid for at least three months): Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, South Korea, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iran, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Morocco, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela.
For stays up to 60 days: (passport valid for at least two months): Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Macedonia.
For stays up to 30 days: (passport valid for at least 1 month): Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Macau.
Other nationalities need to apply for a visa in advance in their respective countries, such as:
For stays up to 90 days: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Haiti, Holland, Hong Kong (British passport), Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Maldives, Malta, Oman, Portugal, United Kingdom.
For stays up to 60 days: Albania, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
For stays up to 30 days: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Estonia, Cyprus, Hungary, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Serbia and Montenegro.
If your country is not among those mentioned above, it is more likely that you will require a visa, so we recommend you to go to the Turkish Embassy in your place of residence.
Visa
The average price of the Turkish visa requested at ports of entry is 15 euros and is valid for up to three months, in case you decide to return to Istanbul.
Custom
Foreign visitors may import one (100 cc) or two (75 cc) bottle (s) of alcohol (including wine), 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars and ten havanos.
You may have to declare and register any electronic equipment to verify that it will leave Turkey with you in your way back. The export and sale of antiquities is banned. That’s way it is advisable to retain the vouchers of carpets and other objects that may be old and part of the national heritage, to bring them out of the country.
Luggage
Airlines in the region generally accept between 20 and 23 kilos of checked baggage and 8-10 kilos of hand luggage. We recommend not to carry full bags and let some space to your shopping purchases in Turkey.
