Pierre Loti Cafe

Located on the highest point of the hill of Eyup Cemetery, this site is called for the pseudonym of Julian Viaud, French writer, Navy officer and an Istanbul passionate lover, who it is said used to come here to seek inspiration.

From this place and tasting the famous Turkish apple tea, you would appreciate fabulous views of the Golden Horn and the city in general. You can access Pierre Loti walking through the cemetery or through a cable car near the famous Eyup Mosque, where we arrive by boat through the Golden Horn, from Eminonu.

From this charming place where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets, is said that Pierre Loti wrote his novel “Aziyade”. The entire complex houses other places and objects of historical interest, from a dervish tomb to a  Byzantine fountain.
