Izmir Archeological Museum

Considered one of the first museums built in western Anatolia, the Izmir Archaeology Museum is categorized as a regional museum rather than a local because of its amazing collection of works of art.

Located in Konak, the heart of the city, the museum is easily walking reached from Konak Square. Above the municipal bus station a curved path through the trees leads visitors to the museum entrance.

Among its main showrooms excel the stonework, ceramic, marble and the Treasure Room, which houses a vast collection of jewelry from different historical periods.

The museum is open daily except Mondays, from 8:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. The entrance fee is 8 TL.
